Tourist tax reporting for Swiss short-term rentals
HostDesk turns your Guesty Bookings into the Kurtaxe report your Gemeinde asks for. You describe the form once as an Export Layout. Each Reporting Period, HostDesk counts the Logiernächte and generates the file you paste into the form.
For hosts and property managers in Switzerland who manage their Listings in Guesty.
How it will work
Step 1
Connect Guesty
HostDesk reads your Listings and Bookings from Guesty, so you never type a stay in twice.
Step 2
Describe the form once
Reproduce your Gemeinde’s form as an Export Layout: its sections, Age Bands and Country Buckets.
Step 3
Generate each period
HostDesk counts the Logiernächte for the Reporting Period and generates a file to paste into the form your Tax Authority sent you.
Counts, never amounts
HostDesk writes counts: Logiernächte per Age Band and Country Bucket. It never computes a tax amount. The amount comes from your Gemeinde’s own form.
Email from HostDesk
When the app opens, HostDesk will send transactional email to the people who use it, about their own account and work. The app is not open yet; this is the plan for launch.
- Type
- Transactional only. No marketing, newsletters or promotions, and no purchased or rented address lists. HostDesk does not email guests in its current scope.
- What we send
- Address verification and password reset, when a User asks for them.
- Invitations, when an Admin invites a colleague to join their Organization.
- Deadline reminders to the members of an Organization when a Reporting Period’s filing with a Tax Authority is due soon.
- Alerts and account notifications, such as “Your export is ready” or a broken Guesty connection.
- Volume
- Expected at launch: under 3,000 emails per month. Volume may peak around reporting deadlines.
- Who receives it
- Users give their own address when they create an account, and request verification and password reset themselves. Reminders, alerts and account notifications go to the members of their Organization. An Admin may send a colleague one invitation to join their Organization before the colleague has a HostDesk account. That address comes from the Admin, and the colleague gets nothing further unless they join. No address is taken from guest Bookings.
- Content
- Messages contain no guest personal data. They say what happened and link back into the app, where the details sit behind a login.
- Bounces and complaints
- SES account-level suppression is enabled for hard bounces and complaints: SES does not send to an address while it is on that list. Before launch, an SES configuration set will pass bounce and complaint events through SNS or EventBridge to the app, which will record them per recipient and stop mailing those addresses.
- Records and monitoring
- Before launch, the app will also record every message it sends with its SES message ID. Bounce and complaint rates are tracked in the reputation metrics of the SES account. No event destination or separate monitoring dashboard is configured yet.
- Sender
noreply@mail.hostdesk.ch, sent through Amazon SES in the AWS Zurich Region (eu-central-2).- Questions or stop
- Write to hello@hostdesk.ch with questions, or about an invitation or other email you did not want. Closing your account stops all email from the app.

An account notification, sent when an export is ready. It names no guest and shows no amount; the file itself stays in the app.
